The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium anticipates that the scenes experienced this Thursday on the island may be repeated and has activated all resources in anticipation of another night of heavy rain.

Officially, the State Meteorological Agency only has warnings activated for wind and waves on the island, although it also expects rainfall, without reaching the pre-alert level. However, the Consortium points out that the occasional showers that may occur throughout the day could be joined by heavier rains during the night and morning of Saturday.

Given this situation, they explain that all the municipal teams have been activated and that the Water Consortium and Canal Gestión are coordinating to have trucks available during the night.

The municipal cleaning services and reinforcements from firefighters, civil protection, NGOs and local police will also be activated, and teams will be available to intervene on the roads if necessary. In addition, they point out that all accesses to Arrecife are being inspected and the pumping areas dependent on Canal are being checked.

As for the wind alert, it will be active until 2 p.m., with possible gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour. Afterwards it will drop to pre-alert (yellow warning) until 4 p.m. Regarding the state of the sea, the yellow warning will remain active until 10 p.m. this Friday.
