The new caravan association El Burgao wanted to clarify that they are not claiming a space for camping but areas for parking their vehicles.

"We are not looking to camp, because that is already a lost war", said Toño González, member of the board of directors of this association that has 178 members, who explained that the difference between camping and parking lies in the fact that, in the first, you can take out elements such as tables and awnings outside the motorhome and in the second you cannot.

"We only want to park, that there is a specific area where we can park our motorhomes peacefully without the police coming to tell us that we cannot be there", González pointed out. "In Arrieta, to give an example, put five parking spaces where the bar is intended for motorhomes," he added. In the statement of the Cabildo about the meeting of the president of the institution with the board of directors of the El Burgao association, it was stated that they had agreed to work together "to find a space on the island that makes compatible the interests of those who enjoy camping with health regulations and environmental requirements."
