The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the Aemet forecast, has declared a pre-alert for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote starting at 00.00 hours this Thursday. In addition, the State Meteorological Agency has also extended the yellow warning for coastal phenomena until Friday on the island, so now it will end at 07.00 hours on that day.
Combined sea from the northwest is expected with waves that can reach between 4 and 5 meters in height. According to Aemet, the waves in Lanzarote may occasionally exceed 5 meters on Thursday afternoon in the surroundings of the island. In addition, the pre-alert also affects the rest of the islands of the archipelago.
As for the forecast for this Thursday, a predominance of cloudy intervals is expected with clear skies opening during the day. Weak and isolated precipitations are not ruled out during the early morning and at the end of the day. Temperatures will experience few changes, with minimums of 16 and maximums of 22. The wind will blow moderately from the west, which will increase to strong on the west side from noon and where very strong gusts are not ruled out.
