The filming in Lanzarote of director Ron Howard's next super production has already overcome the last hurdle. The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, signed this Friday the collaboration agreement with the production company Sf Ithots Canarias, S.L. by which the protection of the environment of the El Golfo Volcanoes Natural Park will be ensured, in addition to the restoration of the accesses for its use in the filming of the Warner Bross film "In the heart of the sea".

The agreement involves the payment of 27,663.27 euros to the Cabildo by the production company Sf Ithots Canarias, S.L., "as conservation and maintenance of the natural environment of El Golfo, which may be used by the Cabildo in actions linked to this purpose, such as, among others, the maintenance and repair of access tracks and roads".

This agreement is valid for one year, extendable by agreement between the parties, and will be coordinated and supervised by a mixed commission composed of the island director of Planning and Project Coordination and Juan Antonio Cano Trujillo, by the entity Sf Ithots Canarias S.L.

Lanzarote, again "in the Hollywood location circuit"

In addition to the president of the Cabildo and the representative of the Canarian production company, there were two representatives of the American giant Warner Bross at the time of signing. At the end of it, San Ginés expressed his satisfaction "both for the agreement, which will guarantee the protection of such an important landscape for the island and repair the accesses, as well as for how really significant the filming in Lanzarote of a super production such as 'In the heart of the sea' is, which puts Lanzarote back on the Hollywood location circuit and brings to the island a high-level director such as Ron Howard".

"The international relevance of this film is going to be linked to Lanzarote and that is why we should all be very satisfied", added the president. The filming of some scenes of 'In the heart of the sea' will bring a team of about 300 people to Lanzarote, including the director, supporting actors and technicians from different fields.

The cast is headed by Chris Hemsworth, star of "Thor" and husband of the Spanish Elsa Pataky, and with him will also be Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy and Ben Whishaw. The director, Ron Howard, faces the challenge of returning to the big screen with a myth like that of Moby Dick.
