The Air and Space Force celebrates a civil flag swearing in San Bartolomé

In this emotional act, organized between the San Bartolomé City Council and the Air Force, 95 people formalized their commitment to the nation

The Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park hosted this Saturday, May 10, an act of swearing or promising allegiance to the Flag of Spain for civilian personnel, in which a total of 95 people participated. The event, organized by the Lanzarote Air Base, in collaboration with the San Bartolomé City Council, aimed to pay tribute to the people of Lanzarote and strengthen the existing ties between the Air and Space Force and the society it serves, guaranteeing their safety and well-being.

The act began with the arrival of the second chief general of the Canary Islands Air Command, accompanied by the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez Martín. After receiving the honors of ordinance, General Ballesta reviewed the participating force, composed of a Squad of Spendthrifts, two sections formed with personnel from the Lanzarote Air Base and Air Surveillance Squadron No. 22, as well as the Music Unit of the Canary Islands Air Command and the Banners of the MACAN units.

After the ceremony of swearing or promising allegiance to the Flag of Spain, the chief colonel of the Lanzarote Air Base, Rafael de Haro Ros, took the floor, who began his speech by congratulating all the jurors for their commitment to the defense and interests of Spain, highlighting the importance of having ratified with this act "your personal commitment to support our society and our country, assuming the defense of its democracy, its union and its diversity."

The event continued with the interpretation of the anthem of the Air and Space Force, followed by a tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain. The events concluded with a land parade of the participating forces along Constitución Street.
