Dozens of people gathered on Thursday afternoon/evening in front of the Hospital Insular de Lanzarote. The mobilization took place around 7:30 p.m. in front of the headquarters of the geriatric health center.

At the gathering, attendees wore white t-shirts, a Lanzarote hat, and carried a candle. The attendees called for the reform of the geriatric center, a benchmark in the Canary Islands, and opposed its closure to completely transfer the service to the Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa.

During the gathering, they read a poem titled *Old Age*: "I am not an old woman, it's just that the afternoon has arrived for me and because of that walk I climbed the tree of life one day and plucked the best fruits from it." The text showed the need to support the elderly throughout their final stage of life: "When you meet a person like that, take her hand firmly and tell her that you are there to support her."

On the other hand, the poster announcing the gathering also included the message: "Don't forget to put on your lipstick," in reference to the statements of the deputy mayor Echedey Eugenio (Coalición Canaria), who criticized on the program *Buenos días, Lanzarote* of *Radio Lanzarote* that women attended the mobilization "with their makeup on."
