The Plaza Camilo José Cela in Villa hosted this Monday the opening ceremony of the Canary week that the Teguise City Council has prepared to celebrate the community day through social networks and online channels.

"Today begins the commemorative events of Canary Islands Day in Teguise, a celebration that will be very different, but that despite the mourning, will have the fighting spirit of all the residents of the municipality and the island of Lanzarote, who will turn to bring to all homes the most essential of our culture," said the mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, after the raising of the Canary flag, which has kicked off a program of events designed for all audiences.

From this Monday, May 25, and throughout the rest of the week, musical performances, documentaries, workshops, contests, etc. will be broadcast from the official website of the Teguise City Council (www.teguise.es), which will accommodate all artistic expressions and Canarian customs, and which will be starring all the social groups of the municipality, with space for all audiences.
