On the night of last Saturday, the residents of the town of Tao greatly enjoyed the celebration of the Canarian Tenderete on the occasion of the festivities in honor of San Miguel Arcángel. The event was overwhelmed by the large number of residents and followers of Canarian music and dances, so the directors of the El Fomento de Tao socio-cultural center had to prepare a few tables outside the social hall.

The first musical notes came from Acatife, the popular music group from La Villa de Teguise, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Acatife reviewed some of the songs they have recorded on their albums, where the traditional Canarian songs as well as the calls from the other side, America, were not lacking.

The night continued with the performance of the Guagime Folk Group, which came from the town of Tahíche. As usual in each performance, Guagime left a very good taste in their mouths with the magnificent exhibition carried out with their most traditional songs and dances.

The night changed radically with the performance of the Pal Porrón band. This northern formation made up of seven members managed to get the public to gradually abandon their seats and fill the dance floor to participate and support them by dancing. Pal Porrón offered a varied musical range where Canarian and ranchera songs were not lacking, to which the rhythms of salsa and merengue were also added.

The Tenderete lasted until well past midnight. In addition, the attending public was also able to enjoy a good Canarian enyesque, which was served by the center's board of directors. Its president, Rita Martín, was very "happy and grateful for the participation and animation of the attending public."
