The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated two yellow alerts for Thursday in Lanzarote, due to the passage of the high-impact storm Claudia through the Canary Islands. One of them has been activated due to the risk of rainfall and the other due to the presence of thunderstorms.

For the moment, in the first forecast from Aemet, it is predicted that between 09:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 13th, the island will be at risk of rain of up to 15 millimeters per hour and stormy showers that could affect Arrecife.

In this same time frame, isolated storms are expected to occur across the island.

Aemet has warned that from this Wednesday, very heavy and persistent showers are expected in the western islands, which could cause flash floods and local flooding

This storm will also be accompanied by very intense wind gusts that could bring down branches or objects located in high places, and sea conditions.
