One more year, the 'Solidarity Goal' installed in the Lanzarote Sports City on the occasion of the celebration this Thursday of the XXII Christmas Gymnastics Festival was once again filled with food and gifts thanks to the solidarity of the Lanzarote society. This year also featured the presence of the Lanzarote Olympic gymnast, Ray Zapata, who began his career in the sports schools of the Island and participated in this Festival every year. Now he continues to do so but now he is a reference for all the young athletes of the Island.
According to figures offered by Emerlan to the Cabildo de Lanzarote as organizer of the event, through the Island Sports Service, 300 kilos of food and a hundred gifts were deposited by the people who enjoyed the event, and that the aforementioned NGO will deliver to the departments of Social Services of the City Councils and Cáritas so that they can distribute them among the neediest families.
The president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés; the vice president, José Juan Cruz; and the councilor of the first Island Corporation in charge of the Sports Area, Patricia Pérez, among other members of the Institution, also made their solidarity contribution.
