The General Directorate of Public Function of the Government of the Canary Islands has suspended the selective public employment tests that were scheduled for this Sunday, as a preventive measure in view of the situation of maximum alert for winds on the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and north and west of Tenerife, and the alert in the rest of Tenerife and La Palma.

The affected selection processes are those for access to the management bodies, general management scale (free shift); financial and tax management scale (free shift); fishing inspection agents (free shift); environmental agents (free shift); senior administration body, general administration scale (internal promotion); administrative body (internal promotion); and senior administration body, financial and tax administration scale (internal promotion).

According to the General Directorate of Public Function, the weather alert directly affects Tenerife, one of the islands where the selective tests were to be held this Sunday, as well as residents of other islands who had to travel.

The Public Function clarifies that "although it is a single call for selective tests, the suspension of the same covers all the places of celebration, as it implies a total suspension of the selective test".

Guaranteeing safety

Given that the Government of the Canary Islands recommends not making trips unless strictly necessary, it has been decided to suspend the tests to guarantee the safety and integrity of the candidates, the members of the qualifying tribunals and the collaborating staff.
