The mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, on his behalf and on behalf of the municipal Corporation, has conveyed his condolences for the death from Covid of Carlos Curbelo, president of the Municipal Band of San Bartolomé.
“Carlos Curbelo is a fundamental piece in the history of the Municipal Band of San Bartolomé, a man with enormous involvement, completely dedicated to music and the architect from its beginnings of the musical dissemination and importance of creating a quarry that would make the band survive beyond its members, being a group that stands out in municipal cultural life", said the mayor.
For Tejera, the death of Carlos Curbelo "leaves an enormous mark on the music of this municipality, for his dedication, involvement, good manners, for his integrity, conciliatory spirit and constant desire to make known all his knowledge so that the Municipal Band would grow to become what it is today, a great musical reality, to which he actively contributed by playing the saxophone.”
In addition to conveying his condolences to the family, the mayor of San Bartolomé extends his condolences to all the people who have been and are currently members of the Municipal Band, as well as to his friends, relatives, and colleagues from the Cabildo, where he exercised his professional life as coordinator of the Sports City.
