The Cabildo of Lanzarote has made public the special device for regulation and closure of the island road network on the occasion of the celebration of the traditional pilgrimage and romeria of Our Lady of Los Dolores 2026.
The measure responds to the need to guarantee the safety of the thousands of pilgrims who will travel to Mancha Blanca, restricting road traffic on the main connection routes.
The Minister of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, responsible for the island network, Jacobo Medina, has emphasized the importance of "prioritizing road safety throughout the festive day". "We are launching a broad operation, in strict collaboration with the Consortium for Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote, directed by Francisco J. Aparicio, on our island network with the sole objective that the thousands of pilgrims who walk towards the Hermitage of Los Dolores do so with the maximum guarantees of tranquility and safety," he added.
Details of the closures
LZ-20 (Arrecife - Tinajo): In the direction of Arrecife, from the Mozaga roundabout to the Monument roundabout, from 00:00 hours to 22:00 hours on Saturday, September 12. Traffic will be diverted through the town of Mozaga.
LZ-30 (Teguise - Uga): Section Rotonda del Monumento - C/ Calderetas: Total closure in both directions from 08:00 to 22:00 hours on September 12. Section C/ Calderetas - Cruce de La Florida: Total closure in both directions from 11:30 to 12:30 hours on September 12, with traffic diverted through Montaña Blanca.
LZ-46 (Tiagua - Mancha Blanca): Total closure in both directions from 10:00 hours on Saturday, September 12, until 06:00 hours on Sunday, September 13.
LZ-56 (Mancha Blanca - La Geria): Total closure in both directions from 08:00 hours on September 12 until 06:00 hours on September 13. This road will be the only corridor exclusively authorized for the passage of public collective transport.
LZ-58 (Masdache - La Vegueta): Total closure in both directions at the height of the Peñón area from 08:00 hours on September 12 until 06:00 hours on September 13.
LZ-67 (La Santa - Yaiza): Total closure in both directions between the Ferretería de Tinajo and Calle Chimanfaya from 15:00 to 23:00 hours on Saturday, September 12.
LZ-409 (Mozaga - La Vegueta): Total closure in both directions from 08:00 hours on September 12 until 06:00 hours on September 13.
