The mayor of San Bartolomé, María Dolores Corujo, this Wednesday handed over the contracts to the 37 people who were awarded municipal plots, located in the Monte area, for cultivation. The contract is valid for 5 years and the City Council plans to deliver a percentage of the production of the plots to the Municipal Food Bank. All the plots are between 5,000 and 7,000 square meters.
"Today is a day of enormous satisfaction for this Corporation, since in the near future, these plots will be recovered for cultivation and will improve the landscape of the area, while there is an agricultural use that benefits numerous families," said the mayor of San Bartolomé, who recalled that these plots have been awarded through a public tender.

For Corujo, this Wednesday the government group has fulfilled "a great objective" since through this initiative the "environmental recovery will be promoted and, above all, the primary sector will be valued". "The commitment of solidarity of this Corporation is also made real," the mayor assessed.
And she considers that with this lease of plots, the City Council "helps" 37 families, who in turn "will collaborate with many other families in the municipality, providing products from the land that will be collected in the Food Bank of the Consistory".
