Salvamento Marítimo has rescued a precarious boat with about 80 people on board this Thursday afternoon, June 25, as reported by the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium.
The rescue occurred about 45 miles east of the island and at this moment the occupants of the inflatable boat are being transferred to Puerto Naos where they will be assisted by Cruz Roja. For the moment, the condition of the people traveling in the boat is unknown.
This is the second dinghy that has been rescued so far this week. This Wednesday, June 24, the Salvamar Alnair located a precarious boat with 71 people on board, 61 men, two of them minors, and ten women. In addition, one of them is pregnant and several of the occupants were feeling general discomfort.
