Maritime Rescue has rescued this Thursday 54 immigrants who were trying to reach Lanzarote in an inflatable boat, including three women and a child.

According to a Salvamento spokesperson to Efe, it is a zodiac that would have departed from Tarfaya (Morocco), according to the NGO that warned of its departure, and that has been located by a merchant ship about 75 kilometers southeast of Arrecife.

Its 54 occupants are already on board the Salvamar Al Nair, which is transferring them to the port of the capital of Lanzarote, where their arrival is expected around 6:40 p.m.
