Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero has decided to suspend for two days its morning radio shows this Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 18 due to the death of its co-owner Teresa Hernández Hernández.

The radio station has made this decision after the death this Wednesday of one of its owners. Teresa Hernández, also co-owner of La Voz, passed away at the age of 88 in the Arrecife Insular Hospital, after a clinical condition that had kept her hospitalized since June 21st became complicated.

The wake began at 5:00 PM this Wednesday in Mémora.

Widow of the journalist and former president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Agustín Acosta, Teresa was a key figure in the early years of Radio Lanzarote, a station to which she dedicated a large part of her life since its founding by Juan Perdomo. Over time, she became a co-owner with her husband and held various positions within the media outlet.

In the social sphere, she was an active and beloved woman. Honorary member of the Casino Club Náutico of Arrecife, where she participated for years in canasta tournaments, a game she was particularly fond of. She also actively participated in the carnivals of Arrecife, forming part of a group of friends with whom she not only shared her passion for this festival but also the artisanal creation of costumes, being recognized on several occasions for her creativity.

As a highlight in her career, she had a brief but significant participation in the island's political life, forming part of the founding group of the Insularist Association of Lanzarote (AIL).

Teresa leaves a legacy of closeness, faith, and commitment to her environment. She leaves three children: Agustín Domingo, lawyer; and Techy and Alberto Acosta Hernández, both journalists; her daughters-in-law and son-in-law Conchi, Pablo, and Marisa; and her grandchildren Alejandro, Diego, Sofía, Silvia, Lucía, and Bárbara.

From La Voz de Lanzarote, we want to extend our deepest condolences to her entire family and loved ones.

Rest in peace.
