The General Direction of Security and Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government has declared the situation of pre-alert due to high temperatures in Lanzarote starting at 10 a.m. this Tuesday.
According to the forecasts of the State Meteorological Agency, the heat wave will especially affect the southern and interior areas of the island, with maximums of between 34 and 36 degrees being reached.
Regarding its duration, it is not yet defined, but it could last for several days. For the moment, Aemet has also activated the yellow warning in Lanzarote for Wednesday, between 10 in the morning and 8 p.m., when maximums of 34 degrees are expected.
The pre-alert will also affect the rest of the archipelago, as temperatures will rise on all the islands.
