Pre-alert issued for rough seas in Lanzarote and La Graciosa

According to the State Meteorological Agency, the swell will mainly affect the western and northern areas of the island

The Directorate General of Emergencies, based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), has declared a pre-alert for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote and La Graciosa starting at 00:00 this Thursday. The swell will mainly affect the western and northern areas of the island.

Specifically, a rough sea is expected, with combined wave heights of 2 to 3 meters. The wind will blow from the north and northeast at force 4 - 5 (20 - 40 km/h), light to moderate chop and a northwest swell of 2 to 3 metersMeanwhile, there will be spring tides during the full moon. High tides on Thursday will be between 00:50 - 01:20 and 13:00 - 13:40, while high tides on Friday will be between 01:30 - 20:05 and 13:55 - 14:30

This situation will also affect the north and west coast of El Hierro, La Palma, and Fuerteventura, as well as the northern coast of La Gomera, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria.
