The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency, has declared for this weekend the pre-alert for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote.
The pre-alert will begin at 00.00 hours on Saturday and combined sea waves with waves of 2.5 to 4 meters high are expected. On Saturday, wind from the northeast force 4 (20 – 28 km/h) and rippled to rough seas with northwest swell with waves between 3 and 4 meters are expected.
On Sunday the wind will be from the northeast force 4 – 5 (20 – 38 km/h) and there will be rough seas to strong rough seas at night in the eastern islands. There will be northwest swell with waves of 2 to 3 meters high.
The situation will improve on Monday, where there will be wind from the northeast force 4 – 5 (20 – 38 km/h) with intervals of force 6 (39 – 49 km/h) and rough seas to strong rough seas, and northwest swell with waves of 2 to 3 meters.
In addition, this pre-alert will also affect the north and west coast of La Palma, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and the north coast of La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
