The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has declared the yellow warning for haze on the island of Lanzarote for this Thursday. This suspended dust will increase throughout the afternoon of this Wednesday and will also affect the other eastern islands but to a lesser extent.

Likewise, the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has decreed the pre-alert for haze from 12:00 hours this Thursday in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

AEMET warns that visibility in Lanzarote may drop below 3,000 meters and the haze will be more intense in the first half of the day, tending to subside in the afternoon. It could also aggravate or generate health problems in people with chronic or respiratory diseases.

The yellow warning will begin at 12:00 hours on Thursday and end at 21:00 on the same day.

Given this episode, the recommendations that are transferred to the citizens is not to leave home if it is not mandatory, close doors and windows well so that dust does not enter and not to do physical exercise outdoors.
