Onelia Nóbrega González from Lanzarote, of the College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Lanzarote (Coaat), becomes the first woman in the history of the General Council of Technical Architecture of Spain (Cgate) to be elected to the Executive Commission of this collegiate entity.
At the meeting held on January 14, the mandate of the new Executive Commission of the Cgate began, which will represent this profession at the state level for the next four years. Alfredo Sanz Corma was re-elected as president and Rafael Luna González, Diego Salas Collazos, Melchor Izquierdo Matilla and Onelia Nóbrega González as members.
The president also designates two members: Leonor Muñoz Pastrana, from the Coaat of Malaga, and Rafael Gracia Aldaz from the Coaat of Zaragoza.
Onelia Nóbrega is a Technical Architect in the Haría City Council
Technical Architect and Building Engineer, specialized in Historical Heritage, Urban Management and Sustainability and Energy Efficiency. She has been practicing the profession freely since 2001, specializing in valuations and appraisals. Since 2003, she has been a Municipal Technician of the Haria City Council, where she first participated as Coordinator of the technical office in the supervision and implementation of the General Plan. She is currently Coordinator of municipal projects and works. In 2005, she was elected Member of the Lanzarote College, a position she held until 2017 when she was elected President, renewing her position in 2021. In 2020 she was President of the Autonomous Council of the Canary Islands.
