A 17-year-old girl has suffered serious burns this morning after being attacked with combustible material in the La Isleta neighborhood of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, according to 112.
The events occurred at 04:00 hours on Roque Nublo street, where a fire was recorded.
The emergency resources deployed to the scene verified that a young woman had serious burns on almost her entire body after being attacked with combustible material. In addition, there was also a young man at the scene with symptoms of smoke inhalation.
According to the National Police, the girl stated that the young man was the one who had caused the injuries, so he has been arrested.
SUC personnel assessed and assisted the affected person who, once stabilized, was transferred in critical condition in a medicalized ambulance to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín. In addition, he also assisted the alleged perpetrator.
The forecast is that the minor will be transferred later to the victim to the burns unit in Seville.
Firefighters intervened in the area, the National Police carried out the corresponding investigations and the Local Police collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources.
According to several local media outlets, this event could correspond to a sexist attack at the hands of the victim's partner, an extreme whose confirmation EFE has requested from the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands.
