The Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, has informed La Voz that this past Wednesday three employment contracts have been signed with professors, out of four that were missing, to start teaching classes in the Nursing degree in Lanzarote.
According to the Minister, the fourth subject in which no professor has yet been hired is Ethics and Legislation, so the area has decided to "move it to the second semester to prevent students from losing teaching."
The third-year Nursing students of Lanzarote of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) protested this Wednesday to denounce the lack of teaching staff in different subjects of the degree. One of the students also stated that "they are in an unfavorable situation."
