Maritime Rescue has rescued five precarious boats in the early hours of this Saturday, December 28, according to the Emergency Consortium.
It is estimated that in total there could be about 253 migrants traveling in the five pneumatic-type boats. After rescuing the fifth boat, Salvamento will transfer them to Puerto Naos in Arrecife where they will be attended by Red Cross volunteers.
At the moment the number of men, women and children among the occupants and their origin is unknown. All of them would have left from Tan-Tan, in Morocco, and would have sailed for two days.
