Maritime Rescue locates two boats near Lanzarote in the early morning

A total of 42 people were traveling in the two boats

Maritime Rescue has rescued two inflatable boats near the coasts of Lanzarote in the early hours of this Tuesday.

According to Maritime Rescue, 25 people were traveling in one of the boats and 17 in the other, making a total of 42 people, all of sub-Saharan origin. In addition, there are four women among the occupants.

The Guardamar Urania has transferred them to Puerto Naos in Arrecife where they have been attended by the Red Cross. There are four women among the occupants of the boats. It has not been necessary to transfer any of the people to the Molina Orosa Hospital.

These are the first two boats to arrive this week on the island of Lanzarote.
