Manuel Cabrera, the owner of the La Cañada restaurant in Puerto del Carmen, has passed away at the age of 77. The family has lamented the death of the founder of the establishment in 1986.

A man born in Tinajo, who opened the doors of the restaurant with the aim of "offering the client a comprehensive high-quality service", according to the Tías City Council.

A passionate of cooking who managed to enter the Las Palmas School of Hospitality in 1963. In addition, during his professional career, he stood out in the kitchens of the Lancelot, Los Fariones and San Antonio hotels.

A journey in which "after a journey through distinguished restaurants in Gran Canaria and Mallorca, he returned to Lanzarote." Later, he undertook what would be "the business of his life", the restaurant "La Cañada", confesses the Consistory.

The Municipal City Council conveys its "most cordial condolences to the family and friends" of José Manuel Cabrera.
