Lorenzo Lemaur will resign next April 7 as president of Democracy, as he has announced to the members of the centennial society.
After several weeks in which his management at the head of Democracy has been criticized by both a significant number of members and workers, Lemaur has finally decided to convene the Extraordinary General Assembly in which his resignation will be acknowledged. The second item on the agenda will be the election of a Management Board to lead the Arrecife society.
As will be recalled, last February a number of members of Democracy requested the resignation of Lorenzo Lemaur. "We want him to resign and show the accounts to the members." They organized themselves into a platform and sent a statement to the media in which they claimed that "Lemaur does not comply with the statutes of the Society." "On May 8, 2023, he was notified of the resignation of the Board of Directors, a situation for which it is mandatory for the leader to call elections and submit his resignation. However, he chose to appoint a new Board of Directors on July 27, 2023 and also post it on the Society's bulletin board, despite not being able to do so," they explain.
Subsequently, the employees complained that they had not been paid for two months and even accused Lemaur of carrying out "authoritarian acts" towards the administrative staff, making them feel "uncomfortable in their jobs."
