The Arrecife City Council has announced that, "in order to guarantee road safety and the fluidity of road and pedestrian traffic on those roads affected by the celebration of the carnival", some sections will be closed in certain time zones. In this way, they affirm from the Consistory, "it is intended to achieve an ordering of road and pedestrian traffic on the roads that are directly and indirectly affected, in such a way that safe and fluid circulation is guaranteed.
Islas Canarias Park
Due to the development of Arrecife Carnival activities scheduled for the “Islas Canarias” park, Avenida Marítima will be closed to traffic, at the points between the Náutico Club and the Gran Hotel roundabout from two hours before the events indicated below until 05:00 hours the following day.
In this way, in order to proceed with the correct ordering of road traffic, it will be diverted from Avenida Mancomunidad towards Coronel Bens street; and from Avenida Fred Olsen towards Canalejas street. Likewise, all the alleys that converge on the affected roads will be closed. Likewise, it is reported that the taxi rank located on Avenida Mancomunidad will be temporarily relocated to the bus stop located next to the Gran Hotel roundabout.

5:00 p.m. Canine costume contest with the performance of the humorist Juan Antonio Cabrera. On the other hand, in other larger events, the section to be closed will be between the Gran Hotel roundabout and the Arrecife City Council.

Events of the José Ramírez Cerdá Park
With regard to the activities scheduled in the surroundings of the “José Ramírez Cerdá” Park, on Saturday, February 18, on the occasion of the Parade of Comparsas and Batucadas from Playa del Reducto to the park itself, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. and the subsequent celebration of the Carnaval Porteño, starting at 12:00 p.m., Avenida Marítima will be closed between the Náutico Club and the Arrecife City Council from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18 to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 19.
In addition, traffic from Avenida Coll will be diverted to Manuel Miranda street and from Avenida Fred Olsen to Canalejas street; as well as the closure at the incorporation of Avenida Mancomunidad from the Gran Hotel roundabout.
