Before knowing the name of the six murgas classified for the final of the XXVII Arrecife Carnival Murgas Contest, the verdict of part of the jury that has been evaluating each of the murga groups since last Monday was announced. The awards will be presented next Friday before knowing the name of the three best murgas of this year's edition. Las Inadaptadas, who had achieved the second prize for costumes in the last two years, won the prize for the best costume.

Las Inadaptadas wore the fantasy "With a hat, tie and clown shoe, we come to make you laugh for a while" which was designed by the murga itself. The costumes of Las Inadaptadas were valued as the best by the jury. This is the second time that the murga from the Valterra neighborhood has won the prize for the best costume, the previous occasion being in the 2006 edition. Las Inadaptadas dethrone Los Desahuciados, a murga that had won the first prize in the last two occasions,

The second prize went to Los Simplones with the fantasy "If I had known that I spent so much on gallons, I wouldn't have dressed up as Napoleon" which was designed by Mencey Curbelo. And the third prize went to Los Desahuciados with the fantasy "Ño que ventolera" made by Tino Morín.

The jury also values and scores the moment in which the performance of the murgas begins, giving on this occasion the prize for the best presentation to Los Titi Roys. Last Monday the members of the winning murga staged a great medieval castle in which were the sorcerers of the murga.

The most critical song and awarded with the "Criticón" prize was performed on Tuesday night by Los Simplones. It is the first time that Los Simplones have won the "Criticón", a prize that in the previous seven editions had been shared by Los Tabletuos and Los Desahuciados.
