Housing is the biggest concern and the main problem for the population of Lanzarote. More than half of those surveyed in the Survey of island issues, conducted in September 2025, do not hesitate to point to the increase in rents and the scarcity of affordable homes as their main headache. The previous year, the lack of housing also took first place

Concern about housing, which is also the main problem identified by respondents across the rest of the country, is more pressing on the island of Lanzarote. While nationwide, three out of ten respondents point to the housing crisis, in Lanzarote more than five out of ten do.

In second place, immigration was the second most mentioned "problem" by the surveyed population, with three out of ten participants pointing to it, also above the national average. It should be noted that concern about immigration rose from fourth to second place, precisely in the year when **boat arrivals** in the Canary Islands have **fallen by 60%**.Thirdly, healthcare stands out, where one in ten respondents expresses "concerns" about access, the quality of healthcare services, and where they perceive "prolonged waiting lists." Healthcare continues to be the third most significant problem highlighted by respondents, as it was the previous year.

Following in order are the price of the shopping basket, which reflects the increased cost of basic products for many families, tourist and demographic overcrowding, job quality, tourism (excessive dependence), politics, water, and, to a lesser extent, public safety, public transport, education, social services, and the functioning of public services.

Compared to the November 2024 survey, mass tourism and demographic overcrowding make their way onto the list, identified as the island's fifth problem by one in ten respondents.
