One more year, and it's been 43, Lanzarote remembered the seven sailors of the Cruz del Mar riddled by a group of assailants. This Sunday at 6:00 p.m. next to the monument "The light that guides us", in Puerto de Naos, a simple and very emotional act took place. Family members, neighbors, representatives of the island's institutions and Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, one of the survivors of the tragedy, came to the place.
The parish priest of Valterra, Nicanor Bermúdez, recited a response for all those who died at sea and a prayer that was followed by all those present. Next, the choir "Iris del Mar", from Valterra, participated singing the Salve Marinera.
After that, the floral offering was made next to the image of Nuestra Señota del Carmen by each of the representatives of the island's town halls. The act ended with words of thanks from Miguel Caraballo, member of the Cruz del Mar Association.
