Lanzarote reaches 38 degrees and will remain on orange alert this Sunday

Lanzarote reached almost 38 degrees this Saturday in this first heat wave that it is suffering since last Friday, July 8, along with the rest of the archipelago.

Haría and the airport were the hottest places where thermometers rose to 37.6 degrees and 37.5 respectively. Tías reached 33.8 degrees and the coolest places were Playa Blanca where 27.5 degrees and Tinajo with 26.6 degrees were recorded.

This Sunday the intense heat will continue and according to Aemet, temperatures will reach 37 degrees, especially affecting midlands and hillsides facing south and inland areas of the island. The orange warning will be active until 8:00 p.m. this day. Regarding the wind, it will be from the north with locally strong intervals.

For this Monday, July 11, a significant drop in temperatures is expected and for now the State Meteorological Agency has not activated any warnings for high temperatures for Lanzarote.
