Lanzarote and La Graciosa are the only islands of the Canary Islands that remain without high temperature warnings for this weekend due to the heatwave. However, the forecast is that the island will reach up to 34 degrees Celsius maximum this Friday, 35 for Saturday, and 32 for Sunday.

For the moment, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has established yellow warnings in six islands (La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera, Tenerife, and Fuerteventura), as well as an orange one in Gran Canaria for Friday. These same warnings will also be repeated on Saturday in the same islands.

These warnings will remain in effect during the central hours of the day, between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM on Friday and again on Saturday. The maximum temperatures could be up to 39 degrees Celsius in Gran Canaria, with nighttime temperatures that could exceed 26 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in the rest of the islands, it is estimated that the maximum temperatures will be between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius.

For the moment, Aemet predicts that this special heat warning will remain in effect, at least, until next Monday, August 3rd, when the arrival of a trough may bring a change in the generalized air mass. Until then, the entire archipelago is under a special heatwave warning.
