Covid-19 Vaccination in Lanzarote

While in the capital islands the vaccination against Covid has just started for people between 20 and 29 years of age, in Lanzarote people under 20 years of age are already being vaccinated, of which 8.1% have already received the first dose, according to data provided by the Health Area of the island.

In total, until this Monday, 166,821 doses of vaccines had already been administered in Lanzarote among all age groups and 93,638 people had already been reached, which represents 67.9% of the target population. With the complete guideline there were already 74,093 people, which represents 53.7%.

In the last eight days, 13,956 doses of vaccines have been given on the island, which represents an average of about 1,750 daily. Of these, the vast majority have been second doses, specifically 9,193, while the remaining 4,878 have been first doses.

By age groups, those over 80 years of age have been with the complete vaccination schedule at 100% in Lanzarote for some time, while the group of 70 to 79 is at 95.3% with the two doses. As for the group of 60 to 69 years, which had been lagging behind in vaccination because most received the AstraZeneca vaccine that requires a longer waiting time between one dose and another, the percentage of vaccinated with the complete guideline is already 68% compared to 59.6% eight days before.

In the age group of 40 to 49 years, 69.9% have already reached two doses and 76% have received one. For its part, the percentage of vaccinated between 30 to 39 years of age with one dose is 58.9% and 38.5% with two doses; and from 20 to 29 years of age there are 42.6% of vaccinated with one dose and 38.5% with two.

As for those under 20 years of age, with whom it has already begun, in addition to having 8.1% with one dose, there is already 0.5% with the complete vaccination schedule.

Those over 20 years of age who are residents in Lanzarote and who have not yet been summoned for the vaccine, can now make an appointment by calling 928 478 950. This appointment system has just been enabled for young people between 20 and 29 years although most have already been appointed and in fact already advances with the next vaccination group.
