Lanzarote will be one of the fifteen Spanish airports that could soon have a clinical space to carry out Covid detection tests, according to the newspaper CincoDías.

According to the economic newspaper, the 15 airports in the Aena network with the highest passenger traffic will have this space, or at least that is what the company intends, by launching a contest in which it seeks candidates to manage these areas in the departure terminals. These must face the payment of rent.

The price will be the main criterion to win the contest, since those companies that make a greater discount on a price level that will be updated every month will win.

In addition, in Cincodías they explain that the airport manager has expressed in the bidding documents that, in the event of detecting positive results for Covid-19, the already established health alert protocols will be activated in each of the airports and will act in coordination with the health authorities of each autonomous community.

In the case of Lanzarote, the period indicates that it will be included in a batch together with four other Canary Island airports. The rest is divided into the center-south, with Madrid-Barajas, Málaga-Costa del Sol and Seville. The northeast batch is made up of Barcelona-El Prat, Alicante-Elche, Valencia and Bilbao. The three airports of the Balearic Islands, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca, make up the other group. Interested companies can bid for one, several or all batches.
