Jellyfish return to Famara beach

This is the Portuguese Caravel species. Lifeguards have installed signs warning of the presence of these jellyfish.

A "significant amount" of jellyfish have appeared on Famara beach this Wednesday.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, it is the Portuguese Caravel species. The animal's contact with the human body can produce very intense pain in the affected area.

Therefore, the Consortium has reported that the beach lifeguards have proceeded to install signs warning of the presence of jellyfish in the area.
