One of the highlights of the Carnival arrived on Monday night, as demonstrated by the large influx of public to the Arrecife Fairground. Four murgas performed in the first phase of the XXVII Murgas Competition of the Arrecife Carnival. Lady's Golosina, Vacilonas, Titi Roys and Tabletuos were in charge of breaking the ice of a contest that will last until Wednesday, the day on which the finalists of next Friday will be known. The Arrecife Carnival poster, oil exploration, the crisis and the councilor of festivities were some of the most recurring themes by the murga groups on Monday night.

The 34 members of Lady's Golosina were in charge of inaugurating the XXVII Murgas Competition of the Arrecife Carnival, a group that already obtained a third prize for interpretation a few years ago. In their first song they took a look at the crisis, trying to find those responsible for leading us to this dramatic situation. In the second song, the Lady's Golosina became grandmothers and who went to Arrecife to collect the pension. A review of how the city, health, education and politicians are, among other stories, sang the Lady's Golosina.

It is the second year of Las Vacilonas in the Arrecife Carnival, counting in this edition with 45 members. In the first song they recalled some manias and curiosities of our society, not escaping the criticism the councilor of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Víctor Sanginés, whom they asked to leave now. The poster announcing the Carnival, which they considered shameful, was also the target of criticism from Las Vacilonas. In the second song they brought to the fore some social ills, being very sonorous the criticism of gender violence and remembering the importance of denouncing the abuser.

2nd Song: "Welcome to our murga roulette"
From the Titerroy neighborhood came the 54 members of the Tity Roys, who had a spectacular staging, having on stage a large medieval castle and dressed as sorcerers. The Titi Roys also criticized the Carnival poster and asked the mayor Manuel Fajardo Feo not to "stick his nose" in matters that are not his responsibility, blaming him for having a shameful poster in Arrecife. Minister Soria was another of the targets of the Titi Roys' criticism, assuring that he has sold the Canary Islands for oil and having a reference to the Green Peace ship that defended the Canary waters during the explorations that were carried out.
Afilarmónica Los Tabletuos

Musical Director: Miguel Angel Cabrera
Artistic Director: Crisanto Reyes
Designer: Cristian Fernández
Fantasy: "Gardener clown with vest and hat, Tabletuos for the whole park"

2nd Song: "Eternal runners-up"
The first phase of the XXVII Murgas Competition of the Arrecife Carnival closed with the performance of Los Tabletuos, a murga that has won the first prize in the last three editions. The 45 members of Los Tabletuos became a Canarian parranda that traveled to Madrid, a fun parody in which Víctor Sanginés or Soria paraded on stage, among others. And in the second song they reviewed some of the reasons why they understand that Lanzarote is the eternal runner-up, mainly due to political management. The criticism made by the Popular Party for not changing the painting of the Kings of Spain from the plenary hall of the Arrecife City Council, was part of the theme and recommended that the painting should have the photo of the councilor Victor Sanginés.
