Hermine degrades to remnant low pressure and the forecast of rain in Lanzarote remains

The National Hurricane Center in Miami, in its update this morning, has reported that Hermine has degraded to a remnant low pressure, despite which the forecast for heavy rains in the Canary Islands remains.

The Aemet, in its morning update, has reviewed the weather warnings keeping Lanzarote on yellow alert for Sunday. The situation would improve for Monday, a day on which there would be no warning for Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Lanzarote maintains the forecast of accumulated precipitation of 15 mm in one hour and 40 mm in 12 hours during Sunday.

The east, south and west of Gran Canaria, east of La Palma and the island of El Hierro remain on red alert from noon this Sunday.
