The red alert that AEMET has decreed this Monday due to heavy rains of up to 180 liters per square meter in 12 hours on the coast of Barcelona is causing delays in two flights to and from Lanzarote.

According to Aena, the shared flight, operated by Iberia, Qatar Airways and Vueling, which should have departed from Barcelona - El Prat Airport this Monday morning to Lanzarote has suffered a delay of two and a half hours. The arrival time was set for 10:10 a.m. but finally the estimated landing time will be 12:40 p.m.

Regarding departures from Lanzarote - César Manrique Airport to Barcelona, the flight operated by the same companies has also been affected. The departure time was scheduled for 10:50 a.m. but due to delays at the Catalan airport, it will take off from the island at 13:17, according to Aena on its website.

The serious weather situation is causing flooding in the facilities of El Prat Airport, which has led Aena to divert 17 flights and cancel fifty.
