The Ministry of Health has reported eight new outbreaks of Covid in Lanzarote in the last week. This week, most of the outbreaks range between three and six cases, except for two that exceed the figure of 10 people infected: one of educational origin, with family branching and linked to a family celebration, with 21 affected reported in Fuerteventura; and another health, with social, labor and family branching, in the Insular Materno Infantil University Hospital Complex, with 17 cases.
The three outbreaks registered in socially vulnerable groups have been reported in Gran Canaria, one of them among people arriving in the Canary Islands in a small boat or canoes.
The family outbreaks, all reported among families from different addresses, range between three and six associated cases, except for one in La Palma with eight cases and two in Gran Canaria, both with seven infections.
The social outbreaks have between three and six associated cases, except for two registered in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, both with eight associated cases, and one in Lanzarote, with seven people infected.
Also the labor outbreaks have between three and six associated cases, except for one in La Palma with nine cases and four in Gran Canaria, all with family branching, two of them with nine associated cases and the other two with eight affected.
Of the 22 educational outbreaks, all with family branching, 14 have been registered in Tenerife (most between three and five affected, except for three with nine cases), four in Fuerteventura (with 21, seven, five and three cases), three in Gran Canaria (with six, four and three cases), and one in Lanzarote (four cases).
The five health outbreaks, all with family branching, have been reported three in the Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín University Hospital, with eight, five and four affected; and three in the Insular-Materno Infantil University Hospital Complex, with five and 17 affected.
Monitoring of 38 old outbreaks also continues, among which, due to being among the most numerous, the one of labor origin, with social and family branching, among a group of firefighters from Tenerife with associated cases in La Palma, with 49 cases stands out; the health one with family branching registered in the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, which already has 27 affected; and one of labor origin, with educational and family branching, in Tenerife with 23 cases.
