After a night of celebration marked by traditions that lasted until well into the early morning, where family and friends shared the grilling of pineapples and sardines sprinkled with homemade wines, and even the most daring took the first swim of the summer on the beach, and with hardly any rest, the parishioners put on their best clothes to participate in the Holy Mass and thus honor the Patron Saint San Juan Bautista on his saint's day.
At 11:30 a.m., the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by Juan Manuel Molina, parish priest of Teguise, and assisted by Norberto Medina, parish priest of Haría, and Adrián Sosa, parish priest of Tías. On this special day, the Alborada Peña del Lentisco Musical Group participated, who were in charge of enlivening the songs. The readings corresponding to the celebration of the feast of San Juan Bautista were given by the residents of Haría.
Minutes before the end of the Eucharist, the parish priest of Haría, Norberto Medina, addressed the assembly to thank the parishioners for their presence and also to thank the municipal authorities for their collaboration in the development of the festivities. He also emphasized asking for everyone's collaboration to obtain the necessary resources to restore the image of San Juan Bautista, a carving that dates back to 1600 and is very deteriorated. Medina explained that "if the necessary resources are not obtained, the image will not be able to go out in procession through the streets of Haría."
After listening to the Hymn to San Juan Bautista sung by the Alborada Peña del Lentisco Group, the procession began. A route led by the Municipal Music Band of Teguise, directed by Professor Ayoze Rodríguez, followed by the image of San Juan Bautista, the celebrating priests, the civil and military authorities together with the parishioners. After the procession, the neighbors retired to their homes to taste the special food as usual with family and guests and the delicious desserts so famous in Haría.
