The company in charge of water management in Lanzarote, Canal Gestión, has reported water cuts in several towns on the island after the power outage that took place during the afternoon of this past Monday. "The production of drinking water on the island has been totally affected", he announced in a statement issued on his website.
In addition to the problems of drinking water production, there is "the significant drop" in reservoir reserves and the historical problems of the island with the lack of drinking water.
The towns of Haría pueblo, Máguez, Arrieta and Punta Mujeres remain without water this Tuesday. Added to this are Guatiza, Nazaret, Tahíche, Teguise Pueblo and Caleta de Famara. All in the municipality of Teguise. To continue, the towns of La Santa, Tiagua, Soo and Muñique also have no supply.
In the municipality of Tías, the town of Tías, Mácher, Conil and La Asomada are affected, and in Yaiza the town and Uga are affected.
Meanwhile, in Arrecife there has been no announcement of drinking water being affected.
Thus, "all agricultural supplies" on the island will have their supply suspended, while areas supplied with reclaimed water will be maintained.
