La Graciosa reaches 38 degrees this Thursday

The heatwave that is affecting Lanzarote and La Graciosa has left very hot temperatures this Thursday during the day and suffocating nights that have made it difficult to fall asleep. Faced with this situation, the Canary Islands Government declared alert for high temperatures.

According to data from the State Meteorological Agency, the eighth island recorded the highest daytime temperature during the past day with 37.8 degrees at 3:00 p.m.. In the case of Lanzarote, the highest value was recorded in Tinajo with 36 degrees.

Almost in the same line, Tías reached 35.4 degrees, followed by Lanzarote Airport where 35 were recorded. Finally, in Haría the values were also high this Thursday, where it reached 34.8.

Regarding the minimum temperatures, the island experienced a torrid night with temperatures that made it difficult to fall asleep. Tías was the town where it was hottest at 05:00 hours with 28.3 degrees. It is followed by Tinajo with 27.7 and the Airport with 27.3 degrees. In the northern area the values were somewhat cooler, with 26.3 in Haría and 24.2 in La Graciosa.

This Friday, the island is under orange alert for heat with temperatures up to 37 degrees. In addition, the yellow alert for haze also continues. It will not be until Sunday when we notice a sharp drop in temperatures.
