A total of 14 crew members who arrived at the Port of Los Mármoles on a boat from Africa have requested asylum, as confirmed by the National Police to La Voz.

Apparently, these people, of Moroccan origin, allegedly "stole" the boat from the shipowner in African waters to reach the islands. Also, one of them could be a minor.

According to what this newsroom has learned, the 14 crew members would be sleeping in two double rooms with a real capacity for four people and, in addition, they are being guarded by a police car.

Police sources have indicated that these people are awaiting immigration procedures to find out if their asylum application is granted or not.
