Lanzarote has added in the last hours seven new diagnosed cases of coronavirus, of which five correspond to residents on the island and two to Spanish tourists. The number of active cases thus rises to 30, after having multiplied in the last three days.

It should be remembered that on Saturday 11 cases were added, doubling those that existed until that moment, and on Sunday one more was registered.

However, all patients are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms and none have required hospitalization.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Lanzarote has already accumulated 128 cases. Of these, 26 have been diagnosed in the 10 days of August and 19 last July. This means that more than 35% of the accumulated cases so far have been detected in the last month and a half.

Regarding the 30 cases that are still active, 13 are from residents of the island while 17 are "imported". Specifically, there are twelve tourists from the Peninsula or other Canary Islands, one from the United Kingdom and four immigrants who arrived in a boat. As for the "local" cases, the first ones corresponded to residents who had traveled outside the island, but in the last two days infections have begun to be confirmed within Lanzarote.
