This Sunday, the rosette artisan Efigenia Torres passed away in Arrecife at the age of 75.

Efigenia was born in Máguez Torres and was one of the most important artisans on the island in the Canarian rosette. Her work to promote this art was recognized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote at the 2009 Craft Fair. Torres learned the trade from her mother, and later from her mother-in-law, and has promoted crafts throughout the island for all these years. She created authentic works of art, such as curtains, tablecloths, centerpieces or cushions.

In addition, in 2013 she was the town crier of the Carmen festivities in Teguise.

The funeral chapel is installed in the Municipal Mortuary of La Villa.
