Neither the restrictions due to the pandemic nor the fact that binge drinking is prohibited under any circumstances have managed to banish this practice from Arrecife. During the past weekend, dozens of young people gathered at the Fairgrounds to consume alcohol next to their vehicles, distributed in different groups throughout the esplanade.
This has been denounced by a neighbor, who has recorded a video to make his complaint public and demonstrate it with images. According to him, the images are from this Saturday, but the same scene "is being repeated every weekend".
For a few months, the Fairgrounds had been free of binge drinking by closing this space and increasing police presence, although young people moved to other areas. However, now they have also returned to occupy this esplanade.
