The Covid-Auto that the Cabildo announced it was going to enable at the Arrecife Fairground to do PCR tests has already started operating.
This Thursday, this area has been launched to take samples from the vehicles themselves, which will replace the one installed so far in the Molina Orosa Hospital.
Specifically, four sample collection points have been set up at the Fairground where, according to health sources, it is planned to collect about 300 PCRs daily.
In addition, different schedules will be established for those people who have to undergo the PCR because they are suspected of having Covid or close contacts of already diagnosed positives, and for patients who, due to an upcoming surgical intervention, have to take the test, so that they do not coincide.
It was at the end of August when the Cabildo announced that it was going to enable this Covid-Auto after a meeting held with those responsible for the Covid-19 Team and the Doctor Molina Orosa General Hospital, where health officials raised the need to expand the space available to perform PCR tests from vehicles. After assessing different alternatives, the first institution opted for the Fairground because it is an accessible area with free space.
