The celebration of the XXI Ironman Lanzarote Canarias next Saturday, May 20, foresees cuts and delays on different roads of the island.
Cuts by municipalities: Tías
By municipalities, in Tías, between 06:00 and 01:00 in the morning, several streets of Avenida Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen will be closed, between Guanapay and Yugoslavia, and between Yugoslavia and La Lapa. Between 07:00 and 19:00, Noruega Street will also be closed, as well as the LZ-40, on the way between Lanzarote Airport and Puerto del Carmen, the Hoya Limpia road (06:30-19:00), the Central Avenue of Tías and the LZ-501 (Los Lirios-La Geria).
In addition, from 07:30 to 18:30, the LZ-56 between Mancha Blanca-La Geria, LZ-30 in the sections between La Geria and Masdache, in connection with the LZ-503 that will be closed from 08:30 to 19:00, will remain closed. In addition, between 08:30 and 18:30, the LZ-30 that connects Masdache with the Farmer's Monument will be closed.
From 07:30 to 11:30, only the LZ-30 road between La Geria and Uga will remain closed.
Cuts planned in the municipality of Yaiza
In the municipality of Yaiza, cuts are planned in the north of the town. The affected areas will be the section of the LZ-30 (La Geria-Uga) between 07:30 and 11:30, La Geria street that will be closed to vehicle traffic between 07:45 and 12:00, as well as the LZ-2, in the sections from Uga to Yaiza and from Yaiza to Playa Blanca, which will be closed until 12:00 and 13:00 respectively. The section of the LZ-67 (Yaiza-Playa Blanca) will be disabled from 08:00 in the morning until 13:30.
Cuts planned in the municipality of Tinajo
The planned cuts in the municipality of Tinajo will affect four roads: the LZ-67 (Yaiza-Mancha Blanca), Avenida Mancha Blanca and Tinguatón street, will be closed between 08:00 and 13:30, as well as the LZ-56 (Mancha Blanca - La Geria) about 07:30 and 18:00.
With this, the access to the Timanfaya National Park (LZ-67) will remain closed between 08:00 and 13:30.
Cuts planned in the municipality of San Bartolomé
In the municipality of San Bartolomé, three roads will remain affected: the LZ-30 (Masdache-La Villa) between 08:30 and 18:30, as well as the Guacimeta road, between 13:00 and 21:00, and the Playa Honda Avenue, between 13:00 and 21:00.
Access to the Farmer's Monument will be through Los Reyes Street. It is recommended to avoid traffic through these sections near the monument, where traffic jams are expected to be generated on the surrounding roads.
Cuts planned in the municipality of Teguise
In the municipality of Teguise, it is expected that eight roads will remain affected. Among them, the LZ-30 (Monumento Al Campesino), between 08:00 and 18:00, as well as José Betancort Street, between 09:00 and 17:30. In addition, between 09:00 and 13:30, the accesses between Betenjui Street and Guayadeque Street, as well as Leandro Perdomo Spínola Street, will remain closed.
The LZ-404 (Guatiza-La Villa) and the LZ-10 (La Villa and Haría) will remain closed from 09:00 and 17:30 this Saturday. In addition, the LZ-1a service road that connects Tahiche to Guatiza will be inoperative between 09:00 and 17:30. The same will happen with the LZ-1 between Arrieta and Guatiza in which it will not be possible to circulate between 10:00 and 17:00.
To access and exit the nuclei of Tahiche and Costa Teguise, access will be normal and without restrictions, while in localities such as Famara, it will only be possible to access through the LZ-410 (Soo-Caleta de Famara).
Cuts planned in the municipality of Haría
The municipality of Haría foresees cuts in twelve of its streets. The LZ-10 road (La Villa-Haría) will remain closed between 09:00 and 17:30 due to the celebration of the Ironman Lanzarote 2023 sporting event. Most of the cuts in the northern municipality will occur in the time intervals between 10:00 and 15:30. In this section, El Palmeral, La Cilla, La Cruz, María Herrera, Portillo de Bonilla, Santa Bárbara and San Francisco streets will remain closed.
Between 10:00 and 16:00, the LZ-201 (Máguez-Yé), the LZ-202 (Hoya de la Pila-Mirador del Río), LZ-203 (Mirador del Río-Yé), the LZ-201 (Yé-Arrieta) will be closed, and from 10:00 to 17:00, the LZ-1 (Arrieta-Guatiza) will also be closed.
Traffic jams are expected at the Arrieta roundabout. In addition, access to the Mirador del Río will remain closed until 17:30 in the afternoon.
Cuts planned in the municipality of Arrecife
In Arrecife, three roads will be affected: Avenida Secundino Delgado, Cactus Street and Avenida Marítima de Arrecife from 13:00 to 20:30.
